Drilling process with decreasing plunging depth
NC1035
NC program for a drilling process with exponentially decreasing plunging depth. For this process, you define all required parameters in the main program. The drilling positions at which the machining operation is to be performed are also defined in this program. Another program is called at these positions via Cycle 12. In this program, the control calculates the motion sequence and executes it. The sequence is a follows:
In a first step, drilling is performed with the defined plunging depth. In the subsequent infeeds, the plunging depth is reduced exponentially until the minimum plunging depth has been reached. This minimum infeed is used for all following infeeds. The infeeds are repeated until the drilling depth has been reached. After the infeeds, the tool is retracted to set-up clearance over the bottom of the hole. When the number of infeeds defined by the user has been reached, the tool is retracted completely from the hole for deburring.
