Multipass milling a radius along a contour in contour lines
NC3120
NC program for multipass milling a radius in contour lines at the upper edge of a contour. At the beginning of the program you have to define all required parameters, and at the end of the program you describe the contours in subprograms. In this example the control executes the desired contour as an island. For this purpose, an SL cycle is programmed consisting of Cycles 14, 20 and 22. Two contours are defined in Cycle 14: LBL1 with the island’s contour and LBL2 with the contour of a pocket that is larger than the workpiece blank. After running the cycle, the control calculates and values required to manufacture the radius. Then the contour on whose edge the radius is to be cut is defined in a Cycle 14 and a Cycle 25 is programmed for the contour lines to be milled. Depending on the depth, the control calculates the contour path so that the individual contour lines later result in the programmed radius.
