Helical thread milling

NC FAQ1024

Question:

Changing the thread depth causes the tool to change its path for the second cut and move at an offset. Can I change this behavior?

Answer:

In principle, no. The software calculates the starting point from the thread depth so that the number of revolutions used for milling the thread is a whole number. You can only come into the same path if you change the thread depth to a whole-number multiple of the pitch. Otherwise the starting point is always different.
