NC program for manufacturing a helical slot on a cylindrical surface. The program was created for a machine with an A axis. At the beginning of the program you define all required parameters. Here you can also define that the core diameter of the slot is to increase or that the helix is to have a variable pitch (extrusion shaft). From the parameters, the control calculates the tool path and traverses it. The tool path consists of linear blocks for which the control calculates the end points in X, Z and A. With the parameter “Pitch,” you define the number of linear blocks a revolution of the A axis is divided into.
The cylinder has to be fixed in the center of the A axis
