CimcoNFS with Windows firewall
NC FAQ1039
Question:
Data transmission with CimcoNFS only works if the firewall is completely deactivated. Is there a solution?
Answer:
The problem is not the CimcoNFS server, but the configuration of the firewall.
Configuration of MS firewall:
Start the Windows firewall from the Control Panel (wcsui.cpl or firewall.cpl).
On the Exceptions tab, use Program > Browse to find the files (services) portmap.exe and nfs.exe (the default directory is C:\CIMCO\NFS\) > Open and then add them with OK. These two entries are then listed as activated (with a check mark) under Programs and Services. Via Edit > Change Area... you can activate the option “My network (subnet) only” or restrict access via “User-defined list”.
