Two potentiometers in one multifunctional control knob: The OC 310 override controller
The new OC 310 override controller makes operating the TNC7 controls even easier, allowing users to manage cutting feeds and rapid traverse with a new, single control knob that considerably speeds up NC program prove-outs.
In this video, Michael Wiendl, also known as "Mr. Webinar," explains the features and benefits of the new OC 310 override controller for TNC7 controls.
Single-handed NC program prove-outs
The OC 310 override controller, combined with the new "Conditional stop" software function, makes NC program prove-outs on the TNC7 so intuitive and convenient that only one hand is needed. You're free to define the stopping points at key events in the NC program, such as:
Prior to a tilting function
During a tool change
During transitions from machining feeds to rapid traverse
LED color indicator for overrides
To start the NC program, simply press the green-illuminated NC Start button on the OC 310. A multi-colored LED scale indicates the override value:
No illumination = 0%
White illumination = Up to 99.5%
Green illumination = 100%
Blue illumination = Above 100.5%
Tactile feedback for greater safety
By providing tactile feedback in the form of vibrations, the OC 310 provides an additional layer of control and safety during its already intuitive operation. You can define which events should trigger vibrations, including:
The minimum feed rate
100% feed rate
The maximum feed rate
Conditional stops
When the OC 310 also detects sudden rotation to the left, it drops the the override to 0% for greater safety in critical, unexpected situations.
